Information on Millimeter Wave Wireless Testing Services

UL has measurement devices capable of supporting up to 240 GHz as a third-party certification.

■ What is Millimeter Wave? The proliferation of wireless devices is rapidly advancing, and in recent years, the frequency bands have been shifting towards higher frequencies. Millimeter waves and microwaves do not have precise definitions, but they generally refer to electromagnetic waves in the frequency range of approximately 10GHz to 240GHz, characterized by the following features: <Features> Due to their properties being close to light and their strong directivity, they are suitable for short-range wideband information communication. They allow for a wide bandwidth, which is advantageous for high-speed transmission, and unlike the 5GHz band, they have less interference with other signals. For products using the millimeter wave band, spurious detection is required in various countries. Conducting accurate tests on millimeter waves, which have strong directivity, requires sufficient knowledge, experience, and technology. UL provides millimeter wave radio testing services with experienced testers as a third-party certification. We also have measuring instruments capable of operating up to 240 GHz, enabling us to offer one-stop services for radio law testing and certification in Japan, North America, and Europe, as well as for WirelessHD and WiGig logo certification.
