Vaisala Corporation (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Veli Solehmainen, hereinafter referred to as Vaisala) will begin selling the "MD30 Mobile Surface Freezing Detection Sensor" (hereinafter referred to as MD30), a compact multi-functional mobile sensor capable of measuring key road weather parameters for winter road maintenance, in Japan starting October 2, 2019. The price is open. The MD30 is designed for snow and ice vehicles such as snowplows operating in harsh environments, aiming to enable more accurate decision-making and optimization of chemical application amounts during winter road maintenance operations by detecting real-time road surface conditions. By installing it on vehicles, continuous monitoring of road surface conditions is conducted, measuring road weather data (friction coefficient, road surface condition, surface thickness, surface temperature, air temperature, dew point temperature, relative humidity). Therefore, it can also be used to complement data between fixed weather observation stations. For more details, please see the link.
