Gelatin (pork-derived) food allergen testing ★For labeling and contamination measures★

We have independently developed a detection technology for pork-derived gelatin! We provide food allergen testing for gelatin, which is recommended for allergen labeling.

Gelatin is classified as "substitutes for specific ingredients" in food allergen labeling. However, due to its high processing level and the difficulty of DNA detection, a testing method for food allergens had not been established. Therefore, our company focused on pigs, which are representative animals from which gelatin is derived, and developed a technology to specifically detect collagen/gelatin derived from pigs, initiating contract testing for food allergens targeting gelatin (derived from pigs). 【Features of the Test】 ◆ Achieves practical detection sensitivity for food allergen testing! For water (such as wash water or wiping solution), a detection limit of 10 ppm* has been achieved. This matches the detection sensitivity of existing Western blot methods targeting milk and eggs. * For products, the detection limit is 50 ppm. ◆ A rare food allergen test for gelatin in Japan Due to the lack of an established testing method, there are limited testing institutions that can conduct food allergen tests for gelatin. As a result, our company can now conduct tests for "27 items" out of the total 28 items classified as specific ingredients and their substitutes. *For more details, please request a catalog or view the PDF data available for download.

basic information

≪Testable Forms≫ Food, washing water, etc. ≪Testing Method≫ Western blotting This method detects specific proteins characteristic of each item through antigen-antibody reactions and differences in molecular weight. It has the feature of higher detection specificity compared to the ELISA method. ≪Required Sample Amount≫ Processed food for 2 meals (totaling approximately 200g)

Applications/Examples of results

Numerous requests from companies that have obtained FSSC22000 certification! We receive inquiries from a wide range of food manufacturers, including beverages, confectionery and baking, seasonings, and raw materials and additives, covering everything from raw materials to final products, and we ensure satisfaction in terms of both price and delivery time. 【Inspection Examples】 - Products containing gelatin and those that do not are manufactured on the same line. Although we provide cautionary notices on the labels, we would like to conduct an internal preliminary investigation in anticipation of client interactions (health foods). - We would like to request an inspection using wiping solution to verify the effectiveness of line cleaning (beverages). - For products claiming to be allergen-free, we would like to request a simultaneous inspection of all applicable food allergen items (a total of 27 items) for label verification (seasonings).
