Flooded road driving simulation using SimericsMP
Introduction to the simulation of floodway driving as a case study of free surface analysis.
In this article, we will introduce application examples that can be useful for product development using Simerics' CAE/CFD software. In particular, in Japan, there are many instances of flooding, and there are situations where we must drive on submerged roads. Creating vehicles that can withstand flooded road conditions has become one of the important challenges in automotive development, but this requires spending a lot of cost and time on prototype manufacturing and testing. CFD simulations tend to become large-scale and take a long time to compute, but with Simerics' CFD, high-performance free surface fluid analysis can be processed quickly through large-scale parallel computing, allowing for easy and rapid results. The complex engine compartment is also modeled in detail, reproducing conditions close to actual experiments. Of course, changes in water depth and driving speed are also easily possible. From these calculation results, we can understand the pathways and amounts of water intrusion, providing feedback for shape design and preventing damage and electric shock. There are still many reasons to use Simerics' CFD software. You can find more details through the link below or feel free to contact us anytime!

Online seminar on the utilization of the latest thermal fluid analysis software and turbo design software.
Wavefront Inc. will hold an online seminar titled "Utilization of the Latest Thermal Fluid Analysis Software and Turbo Design Software"! In recent years, various initiatives have been undertaken to achieve a carbon-neutral society. For example, in the automotive industry, with the further promotion of electrification, energy conservation, and efficiency, there is a growing demand for thermal fluid analysis, including cooling simulations for electric motors (water cooling/oil cooling) and oil agitation simulations for planetary gear mechanisms used in EVs/HEVs. In this seminar, we will introduce the thermal fluid analysis software "Simerics MP+" specialized for these complex simulations! Additionally, the construction of small hydropower plants contributing to sustainable renewable energy supply is becoming increasingly active. Since installation locations are not limited as long as there is a drop and flow, many potential development sites remain, and many companies are entering this field. We will also introduce the turbo design software "CFturbo," which serves as a stepping stone for those involved in small hydropower generation to increase turbine efficiency while reducing design time and costs, as further proliferation and diversification of small hydropower generation is anticipated!

The Piston Cooling template has been added to SimericsMP+!
A Piston Cooling template for two-phase flow piston cooling simulation using oil injection has been added. It is now possible to model multiple pistons with a single piston cooling module. Additionally, conjugate heat transfer simulations can be performed without using Python scripts.

The 【SimericsMP+】Fuel Tank template has been added!
A Fuel Tank template has been added to simulate two-phase flow in the fuel tank of a vehicle.

The Vehicle template has been added to SimericsMP+!
A Vehicle template has been added for performing simulations of automotive exterior, under-hood airflow, and thermal damage analysis. Additionally, a new mesh type has been introduced, allowing selected solid components or internal fluid components to be retained within the template. Furthermore, "Drag development" has been added to the output of drag calculations.

The Marine template has been added to SimericsMP+!
A Marine template has been added for performing hull simulations. Additionally, a "Submerged hull" type for simulating underwater objects such as submarines and UAVs has been added. It is also possible to choose whether to maintain the water surface and whether to include propulsion.
