Simerics MP+ is a fluid analysis software designed to calculate the transient characteristics of various volumetric pumps, compressors, and valves. It is developed based on the thermal fluid analysis software Simerics MP and utilizes all the features of Simerics MP. 【The following fluid analyses are possible】 ■ Free surface flow ■ Flow considering the compressibility of air contained in liquids ■ Pressure pulsations and water hammer effects ■ Coupling of pump flow with the rigid body motion of valves and cam rings ■ Flow in low to medium vacuum conditions ■ Compressible flow (subsonic) ■ Cavitation ■ Time variation of flow field (velocity vectors, pressure), flow rate, fluid forces, and torque The greatest strength is the ability to automatically create meshes even for clearances in the micrometer range, which is difficult for other general-purpose fluid analysis software!! Recently, there has been an increase in achievements for oil pumps used in automobiles and construction machinery, with more examples such as vane pumps for power steering and CVTs, and trochoid pumps for engine lubrication. *There is a lot of information that cannot be posted online. Especially, the actual mesh creation and movement should definitely be demonstrated in a demo!

(1) Automatic generation of calculation meshes! Even for complex flow paths, automatic generation of calculation meshes is possible with simple button operations. Additionally, for pump chambers that involve rotation/volume changes, high-precision calculation meshes can be automatically generated using a dedicated mesh creation module. It is possible to automatically execute the movement/rotation/deformation of high-precision meshes without tedious tasks. (2) Fluid analysis of various gear pumps is possible! Simerics MP+ has mesh creation capabilities for various pumps, including different gear pumps, making it easy to perform calculations for a variety of pumps. It also has mesh creation functions for valves, allowing for calculations of flow paths that include valves, and coupled analysis is also possible. (3) More accurate modeling of aeration/cavitation! It includes a high-precision cavitation model, making it possible to predict the expansion of non-condensable gases and the generation of vapor due to cavitation. (4) Calculation of free surface flow Calculation of free surface flow is possible. It is now possible to analyze the oil being scooped up inside the gearbox and the suction of oil from the oil pan during pump startup.

Online seminar on the utilization of the latest thermal fluid analysis software and turbo design software.
Wavefront Inc. will hold an online seminar titled "Utilization of the Latest Thermal Fluid Analysis Software and Turbo Design Software"! In recent years, various initiatives have been undertaken to achieve a carbon-neutral society. For example, in the automotive industry, with the further promotion of electrification, energy conservation, and efficiency, there is a growing demand for thermal fluid analysis, including cooling simulations for electric motors (water cooling/oil cooling) and oil agitation simulations for planetary gear mechanisms used in EVs/HEVs. A Piston Cooling template for two-phase flow piston cooling simulation using oil injection has been added. It is now possible to model multiple pistons with a single piston cooling module. Additionally, conjugate heat transfer simulations can be performed without using Python scripts.
