Simerics MP+ is a fluid simulation tool designed to calculate the transient characteristics of various valves, pumps, and compressors. It is developed based on the thermal fluid simulation tool Simerics MP and utilizes all the features of Simerics MP. 【The following fluid analyses are possible】 ■ Free surface flow ■ Flow considering the compressibility of air contained in liquids ■ Pressure pulsation and water hammer ■ Coupling of pump flow with the rigid body motion of valves and cam rings ■ Flow in low to medium vacuum conditions ■ Compressible flow (subsonic) ■ Cavitation ■ Time variation of flow field (velocity vectors, pressure), flow rate, fluid forces, and torque The greatest strength is the ability to automatically create meshes even for clearances in the µm range, which is difficult for other general-purpose fluid analysis software!! (1) Automatic generation of calculation meshes! Even for complex flow paths, automatic generation of calculation meshes is possible with simple button operations. Additionally, for pump chambers involving rotation/volume changes, high-precision calculation meshes can be automatically generated using a dedicated mesh creation module. It is possible to automatically execute the movement/rotation/deformation of high-precision meshes without tedious tasks. (2) Fluid analysis of various valves and gear pumps is possible! Simerics MP+ has an automatic mesh creation function for various valves and pumps, making it easy to perform calculations for a wide range of valves and pumps. It is also possible to conduct calculations for flow paths that include valves, and coupled analysis is feasible. (3) More accurate modeling of aeration/cavitation! It includes a high-precision cavitation model, allowing for the prediction of non-condensable gas expansion and vapor generation due to cavitation. (4) Calculation of free surface flow As a new feature, the calculation of free surface flow has become possible. It is now also possible to analyze the oil sloshing inside the gearbox and the oil suction from the oil pan during pump startup.
