Cooling analysis of the E-Axle also uses "Simerics MP+".
Analyze the cooling of the E-Axle with Simerics, which has strong rotating and VOF capabilities! It's also suitable for switching from other general-purpose CFD solvers or particle methods.
【The following fluid analyses are possible】 ■ Free surface flow ■ Flow considering the compressibility of air contained in liquids ■ Pressure pulsation, water hammer effects ■ Coupling of pump flow with the rigid body motion of valves and cam rings ■ Flow in low to medium vacuum conditions ■ Compressible flow (subsonic) ■ Cavitation ■ Time variation of flow field (velocity vectors, pressure), flow rate, fluid forces, and torque Recently, there has been an increase in projects for cooling analysis of E-Axles for automobiles, and when solving the VOF method with other CFD software, we have received inquiries such as: - Analysis time is too long - It is difficult to create fine calculation meshes - The analysis diverges and does not converge Additionally, even when analyzed using particle methods, we have received feedback that accurate thermal analysis cannot be performed, and it is only possible to identify areas where oil is present. Our company undertakes actual contracted work from Tier 1 customers, gaining know-how that cannot be obtained solely from software sales. basic information
(1) Automatic generation of calculation meshes! Even for complex flow paths, automatic generation of calculation meshes is possible with simple button operations. Additionally, for pump chambers involving rotation/volume changes, high-precision calculation meshes can be automatically generated using a dedicated mesh creation module. It is possible to automatically execute the movement/rotation/deformation of high-precision meshes without tedious tasks. (2) Fluid analysis of various gear pumps is possible! Simerics MP+ has mesh creation capabilities for various pumps, including different types of gear pumps, making it easy to perform calculations for various pumps. It also has a mesh creation function for valves, allowing for calculations of flow paths that include valves, and coupled analysis is possible as well. (3) More accurate modeling of aeration/cavitation! It includes a high-precision cavitation model, enabling the prediction of non-condensable gas expansion and vapor generation due to cavitation. (4) Calculation of free surface flow It has become possible to analyze oil scraping inside the gearbox and oil suction from the oil pan during pump startup.

Applications/Examples of results
Simerics MP+ is primarily used by automobile manufacturers and automotive-related parts manufacturers in Japan, with numerous achievements in oil pumps used in automotive automatic transmissions (AT) and continuously variable transmissions (CVT), as well as engine oil pumps. Additionally, it has a wide range of implementation achievements not only in the automotive industry but also globally. Examples of achievements worldwide by the developer can be found at: http://www.simerics.com/testimonials/ There are many cases where companies that have already purchased multiple fluid analysis software domestically, as well as those overseas, have bought it to improve usability, accuracy, and reduce calculation time in the analysis of volumetric pumps such as gear pumps and vane pumps.
