Predict the weather. ●The relationship between altitude and atmospheric pressure Altitude can be expressed as "elevation above sea level" which represents the absolute height from sea level (0m), and "relative altitude" which represents the difference in altitude between two points. The barometric sensor utilizes the relationship that "as altitude increases, atmospheric pressure decreases" to measure pressure values based on the International Standard Atmosphere defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization and calculates the "relative altitude." When climbing, if you set it to 0m, you can know how much you have ascended, and if you adjust it to match the altitude indicated on signs, you can determine the approximate elevation above sea level of your current location. - The International Standard Atmosphere assumes a pressure of 1013 hPa and a temperature of 15°C at sea level (0m). - If atmospheric pressure changes due to weather fluctuations, the measured altitude will also change. ●Predicting weather changes from trends in atmospheric pressure changes. If atmospheric pressure changes at the same altitude, an increase in pressure indicates improving weather, while a decrease indicates worsening weather. When staying in the same location, such as a campsite, if there is a change in atmospheric pressure, or if there is a significant change in pressure during a move with little altitude difference, it becomes possible to predict the weather.
