Rubber and plastic hardness tester
●This is a durometer (rubber and plastic hardness tester) that quantifies and expresses the hardness level of soft materials such as rubber, indicating whether they are hard or soft. ●Compliant with JIS K 6253 ●This durometer complies with JIS K 6253 (new JIS). It consists of three types: Type A for medium hardness, Type D for high hardness, and Type E for low hardness. The central Type A tends to show values that are 1 to 2 points higher compared to the old JIS A-type hardness tester. Type D is suitable for hard rubber with a measurement value of 90 or above using Type A, while Type E is suitable for soft rubber with a measurement value of 20 or below using Type A. Additionally, Type A's MD15S-A719NT is specified in JIS A 1108 "Method for Compression Testing of Concrete" for the unbonded capping test. Furthermore, Type E is referred to as Type AO durometer in ISO 7619.

●About the Pointer Type In elastic materials such as rubber and elastomers, there are instances where the durometer's pressure surface, immediately after making contact, shows a decrease in the indicated value due to factors like creep characteristics, making it difficult to read the maximum value. While the pointer continues to indicate the declining value, the pointer type holds the maximum value, thus enhancing reading accuracy. Additionally, even if the pointer is not directly visible due to some obstruction, the value can be confirmed with the pointer after measurement. The pointer type is equipped with upper and lower limit limiters as standard, making it effective for tolerance determination of hardness values. ●Digital Durometer with Peak Hold Function Model equipped with a peak hold (maximum value hold) function. This is effective for measuring the hardness of elastomers where the maximum value is difficult to read due to relaxation phenomena. The minimum reading value is 0.5, which is half that of the analog type.
