Mounted ultraviolet radiation intensity sensor / Model number WPLP-UV-01

Installed ultraviolet radiation intensity sensor

It measures the irradiance (W/m²), defined as the ratio of the radiation flux (W) incident on a surface to the unit area (m²), in the UVA / UVB / UVC spectral range. With the adoption of a new photodiode, it is insensitive to ? and infrared light. The outdoor installation type is the MC8P-PHOT3S series. ■mV signal output In the spectral regions of VIS-NIR, UVA, UVB, and UVC, it measures light and radiation amounts as illuminance (lux) or irradiance (W/m²). Additionally, it is capable of measuring the number of photons per unit time and unit area in the photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) wavelength range of 400–700 nm. The WPLP series does not require an external power supply.

basic information

The output signal in mV is obtained through the shunt resistance of the photodiode terminal. The photocurrent generated when the photodiode receives light is converted into a potential difference and read by a voltmeter. Once the PD (potential difference) is read, the measurement is calculated using a calibration coefficient (output coefficient). Each probe is calibrated at the factory before shipment and has its own unique calibration coefficient (output coefficient). This coefficient is indicated on the individual probes and in the accompanying manual. Probes in the WPLP series are equipped with cosine correction diffusers. For UV measurement probes, the diffuser is made of polished quartz, while other probes are made of acrylic or Teflon (WPLP-PHOTO-01). Probes in the WPLP series are designed for measurements that continuously monitor the above light and radiation levels, both indoors and outdoors (excluding UV measurement models).

Applications/Examples of results

■Probe Calibration <WPLP-UVA-01> Calibration is performed using the 365nm line of a Xe-Hg (Xenon-Mercury) lamp through a spectral interference filter. The measurements are conducted by comparing with a temporary standard appointed by the Delta Ohm Calibration Center. This probe can be used in all processes that require monitoring the emission of UV lamps, such as polymerization of resins and adhesives, and tanning lamps.
