■Measurement Principle By pressing the opening against the skin, a closed chamber state is created, and the humidity of the air inside the chamber increases in accordance with the moisture evaporating from the skin surface at the opening. The transdermal water loss (TEWL) is calculated based on the change in the rising absolute humidity. Furthermore, since the response of the humidity sensor depends on relative humidity, response correction is performed by the built-in CPU, allowing for accurate quantitative measurement of TEWL in any environment.
