Trailer sonar system (backup sonar)
Low-speed accident prevention system for trailers using ultrasonic sensors. Obstacle detection with up to 8 sensors. Proven track record of 6 years since launch.
This is a sonar system for trailers, composed of a dedicated controller and ultrasonic sensors designed and developed in Japan, capable of supporting up to 8 channels. The system is designed and developed by a Japanese sensor manufacturer that holds a 60% share of the global ultrasonic sensor market, with production carried out at its overseas factories. The controller is combined with a dedicated ECU that incorporates a unique algorithm, and has achieved over 6,000 units in operation within 6 years of supply for trucks and buses. The basic configuration of the system consists of two types: - On-screen display type that shows detection distance with backup monitor interruption - Dedicated LED indicator display type (under development) The basic sensor configurations are 2ch, 4ch, 6ch, and 8ch. The basic installation positions are 2ch at the front and 6ch at the rear (2ch on top / 4ch on the bottom). The sensor angles can be adjusted to some extent. *Compatible with both 12V and 24V systems. - Tractor controller & harness kit - Trailer sensor & harness kit *Each can be sold separately. The connection point between the tractor and trailer can be disconnected using a dedicated connector with a waterproof cap. If requested, vehicle installation can also be carried out by a partner company with proven experience.
basic information
Documents such as wiring diagrams are available for download. Additionally, the system configuration is the same as that for trucks and buses, with the addition of waterproof connectors designed for mid-harness disconnection for trailers, as well as a dedicated harness (extension type) specification.
