[Case Study] YKK's Fasteners for Fishing Nets: Introducing Examples of Adoption in Fixed Nets
Successfully streamlined the removal and tying of ropes during fish landing using VISLON® zippers for fishing nets! Improved worker safety has also been achieved.
Our VISLON® zippers for fishing nets are available in types No.10 to No.30. For No.30, which can be used when the zipper element comes off, we also provide repair elements. ◆ Background for Adoption in Fixed Net Applications Fixed nets are a fishing method where nets are set up in areas where fish migrate for a certain period to catch the guided fish. The fixed nets used for salmon and trout fishing are installed about 4 to 5 km upstream from the river mouth, extending 1 km in length and 20 to 50 m in width, and these nets are also equipped with zippers. ◆ Key Points for Problem Solving (How Fastening Helped) Traditionally, the ends of fishing nets were all secured with ropes, requiring the ropes to be removed and tied again during the catch, which posed a challenge for efficient harvesting methods. By instead installing VISLON® zippers for fishing nets, approximately 10 to 20 m in length, we were able to improve work efficiency and enhance the safety of the workers. *For product details, please refer to the catalog available for download below as "PDF Download." *VISLON is a registered trademark of YKK Corporation.
