High-performance insulation material WDS
The thermal conductivity is lower than that of still air, providing several times the insulation effect compared to common insulating materials such as ceramic fibers and calcium silicate.
<Features> 1. The thermal conductivity is 0.021 W/m·K, which is lower than that of still air, providing several times the insulation effect compared to common insulation materials such as ceramic fiber and calcium silicate. This allows for a reduction in the thickness of the insulation material compared to conventional insulation, enabling the miniaturization of devices. 2. The temperature dependence is extremely low, and even with an increase in operating temperature, there is little change in thermal conductivity, resulting in minimal variation in insulation effectiveness. 3. Composed of ultra-fine fumed silica and materials that do not transmit infrared radiation, it also features a fine micro-pore structure that restricts the movement of air molecules. Unlike traditional insulation materials that merely trap air, it controls the transfer of heat through "solid conduction," "air molecule movement," and "infrared transmission," achieving a thermal conductivity that surpasses still air at 0.021 W/m·K. 4. It is a soft and fragile material, making it difficult to use as a structural material; however, it does not deform unless subjected to external pressure.
basic information
WDS comes in two types: WDS ULTRA and WDS Lambdaflex super. WDS ULTRA is flat and has no flexibility. WDS Lambdaflex super is flexible, making it suitable for installation on curved surfaces. <Processing> If you provide us with a drawing, we can perform processing such as drilling and notching and deliver the finished product. It can also be easily processed with a utility knife, but please handle it with care as it is a soft, fragile, and powdery material. <Coating> To prevent dust and improve workability, the surface of WDS can be coated with aluminum foil, polyethylene film, ceramic paper, or metal foil. <Installation> Common installation methods include drilling holes in WDS and attaching it with bolts or placing it inside covers made of metal or other materials. Adhesives are likely to peel off after heating. <Applications> WDS is used as industrial insulation material in various manufacturing industries, including furnaces, heaters, steelmaking equipment, fuel cells, and heat storage heaters.
