The electron beam can be applied to a wide range of materials such as iron, stainless steel, copper, and aluminum. Surface modification can achieve product functionality improvements like corrosion and wear resistance through alloy coating formation, and a variety of surface treatments are possible, from polishing (mirror finishing) to matte processing. Metal joining can assist in creating compact, high-performance products through dissimilar material joining, brazing, and thin sheet welding.
