The forced ventilation and heater unit MC8PRS-VHU12S can improve the measurement accuracy of solar radiation by maintaining a constant operating temperature for the sensor. The forced ventilation of this unit reduces type "A" zero offset (associated with pyranometers and nocturnal radiometers) caused by the cooling of the glass dome on the sensor body. By using the ventilation and heater functions, it prevents condensation and frost from forming on the glass dome of the pyranometer, thereby achieving more accurate measurement results. This unit is equipped with two independent heater circuits of the same power to prevent snow accumulation and ice formation on the glass dome, which can be operated separately, allowing for the appropriate heater function to be used according to the installation environment. The MC8PRS-VHU12S can be used with the Senesca (formerly Delta-T) pyranometer LPS02 and LPS10 series, enabling solar radiation measurements in accordance with industrial standards, including ISO/TR9901, IEC61724-1, and the BSRN Operations Manual.
