A blender is used to create foam in water-based drill mud. The foam disappears with the addition of a defoamer (foam is removed). Even when mixing is started again, no foam is generated (foam suppression). 350ml of water-based lignosulfonate drill mud is placed in the blender container, and the lid is closed. Start at speed 2 and stir for 10 seconds. Foam rises to the surface. Open the lid and add a few drops of the formulation inside. The foam breaks (removal). Close the lid and stir again at speed 2 for 10 seconds. No foam is visible anymore (foam suppression).
