(2) Decide on the necessary outer diameter or inner diameter of the spring. (3) Determine the free length of the spring (the length before displacement). (4) Decide on the required load (or spring constant*1, deflection amount*2, etc. may also be acceptable). *1 Spring constant: The load obtained when the spring is displaced by 1mm (load ÷ deflection amount). *2 Deflection amount: The change that occurs when a load is applied to the spring.
