ABB has signed a comprehensive five-year contract with Austrian power grid operator Austrian Power Grid (APG). This represents the largest power grid expansion in Austria's history and could be a contract worth over $100 million for the supply of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). To gradually integrate more electricity generated from renewable resources, ABB will supply GIS to help build a transmission system that strengthens the infrastructure.
