ABBジャパン
ABB has received an order worth approximately $150 million to provide comprehensive technology for next-generation cruise ships being built by the Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri. Strengthening its position as a preferred supplier in the cruise industry, ABB will equip five new ships with the proven Azipod electric propulsion system, which significantly reduces onboard fuel consumption. Each cruise ship will be powered by two Azipod units, with a total propulsion power of 178 megawatts (238,700 horsepower) for the five new ships. This order includes the largest and most powerful Azipod propulsion units ever installed at Fincantieri, each rated at 20 megawatts. The vessels are scheduled to enter service between 2023 and 2026.
