ABB sensors mounted on SpaceX rockets detect greenhouse gas emissions.
ABBジャパン
The optical sensors manufactured by ABB were deployed in conjunction with the successful launch of the satellite Hugo from GHGSat, an emerging leader in greenhouse gas detection services in space. ABB's optical sensors can map methane emissions from space with a resolution 100 times higher than any other sensor. Previously, only larger areas could be surveyed, but the new improvement in granularity has made it possible to identify emission sources for the first time. An additional nine units are currently being manufactured by ABB and will be launched on the first private satellite constellation dedicated to emissions observation, scheduled for the end of 2022.
