"SACE Infinitus" is a super-fast semiconductor circuit breaker compliant with IEC60947-2. With a breaking speed 100 times faster than conventional circuit breakers and rapid fault location identification, it contributes to maximizing system operation. By using a unique ultra-fast power semiconductor for current switching, it has successfully shortened the breaking time, which typically requires several tens of milliseconds, to about 100μs at a maximum of 1kVDC. ABB will unveil the SACE Infinitus ultra-fast semiconductor circuit breaker for the first time in Japan at CEATEC 2023, held at Makuhari Messe from October 17 (Tuesday) to October 20 (Friday). SACE Infinitus is the world's first ultra-fast semiconductor circuit breaker compliant with IEC60947-2 and is a key technology for the introduction of next-generation sustainable power distribution systems. On October 19 (Thursday) at 14:00 in Convention Hall B, there will be a presentation on the role of direct current in energy transition and the revolution brought by SACE Infinitus.
