In every situation, there is a task of extracting design information from drawings and transcribing it into specifications, purchase orders, project proposals, cost estimates, proposals, sales materials, and so on. The task of extracting information from those drawings involves searching for the necessary information (text strings) for cost estimation and transcribing them into Excel, which I believe will be a significant workflow. While there is a method to use the tool for extracting design information from drawings that I introduced earlier (reference: A method to significantly reduce the work of transcribing and pasting from CAD drawings to Excel), this page will introduce a case of developing a dedicated automated system aimed at further improving work efficiency.
