Are you still evaluating the conventional color gamut? [Introduction to the Color Gamut Evaluation System for New Product Displays GR-55 WEB Seminar]
This is a new color gamut evaluation method called Gamut Rings for displays. If you're wondering what Gamut Rings are, why not join this seminar? It will be a great opportunity for you to learn about a new color gamut evaluation. The speaker will be Koichiro Kakinuma, a former Sony engineer who has been engaged in the field of color for many years. ■ It's free. Scheduled for November 27, 2024, from 13:30 to 14:30. Organized by Hodaka Electronics Co., Ltd. Co-organized by Aphrodite Co., Ltd. ▼ What is the Gamut Rings method? The Gamut Rings method, proposed and put into practical use by Dr. Masaoka from NHK, is a means to measure the color reproduction range of displays. This is a completely new and groundbreaking method that visualizes a three-dimensional color gamut, including brightness that could not be expressed conventionally, in two dimensions (see attached materials). It has been internationally standardized by organizations such as IEC, ICDM, and CIE. In this presentation, we will explain the basic principles of the Gamut Rings method and provide an overview of the product GR-55, as well as introduce the immediate conversion to xy chromaticity diagrams, xyY color space, and L*a*b* color space that have been used traditionally.

A free web seminar titled "Introduction to MTF Measurement Devices for Next-Generation Displays, Now Available" will be held on November 17 (Friday) at 13:30.
Displays continue to evolve towards higher definition and higher quality. This time, we will introduce a new spatial resolution evaluation (MTF evaluation) specifically for displays, which accurately assesses one of the important indicators of image quality: clarity level. This evaluation method adopts the newly developed Line-based method, which is set to be standardized by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), allowing for easy quantitative evaluation of spatial resolution (spatial resolution assessment) for various displays, display devices, and materials/components using a cost-effective system. This seminar will introduce the latest trends in the industry regarding MTF measurement devices that quantify the beauty and clarity of displays as perceived by the human eye. ■ Event Overview ■ Date: November 17, 2023 (Friday) 13:30–14:30 (tentative) Venue: Online Seminar (Zoom) Speaker: Koichiro Kakinuma, Advisor at Aphrodite Inc.
