Features of the new product: - The color gamut evaluation can be performed accurately, easily, and understandably. - This is a new method that visualizes a three-dimensional color gamut (color space) including brightness that cannot be expressed in traditional chromatic diagrams, in two dimensions. - The three-dimensional color gamut is sliced at regular brightness intervals, stretched onto a plane, and arranged in a ring shape. - This measurement has been standardized internationally (IEC, CIE). 1) It aligns very well with human visibility and can be evaluated accurately, making it effective for display design development and quality improvement. 2) It allows for the expression of colors in the brightness direction that were not previously possible, making analysis easier. 3) The measurement time is very fast, leading to significant improvements in measurement efficiency.

The Gamut Rings method, proposed and put into practical use by Dr. Masaoka from NHK, is a means to measure the color reproduction range of displays. This is a completely new and groundbreaking method that visualizes a three-dimensional color gamut, including brightness that could not be expressed conventionally, in two dimensions (see attached materials). It has been internationally standardized by organizations such as IEC, ICDM, and CIE. In this presentation, we will explain the basic principles of the Gamut Rings method and provide an overview of the product GR-55, as well as introduce the immediate conversion to xy chromaticity diagrams, xyY color space, and L*a*b* color space that have been used traditionally.
