Optical measurement of COD and nitrate without the need for reagents.
No reagents required! COD and nitrate measurement
I will explain the long-term test regarding the measurement methods for COD and nitrate without the use of reagents, conducted at the Paisenberg wastewater treatment plant. The test began in early November 2015 and was carried out to evaluate the effects of seasonal changes.
basic information
Testing Method Online Measurement: The UV-VIS sensor NiCaVis 705 IQ from the IQ Sensor Net series was used, which includes ultrasonic cleaning and air cleaning functions. Lab Measurement: Optical non-reagent measurement method (OptRF) using the photoLab 7600 UV-VIS and cell tests using standard reagents were conducted. Measurement Results COD and Nitrate Concentration: The measurements from the online sensor and the optical non-reagent measurement method (OptRF) showed a very good correlation compared to the cell tests. Measurement Accuracy: When comparing both factory settings and user calibration, the measurement accuracy was further enhanced. Conclusion High-Precision Measurement: Excellent correlation was demonstrated across different measurement methods in both online and lab measurements, confirming that it is a reliable and satisfactory measurement method. This test yielded reliable results using a measurement method that does not require reagents.
