PTFE-free wax additive
PTFE-free wax additive
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) represents a class of substances known as perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) compounds. Products made from chemicals in this group are suspected to be harmful to health, leading to increased critical evaluations of their use on a global scale in recent years. Nevertheless, PTFE possesses several desirable properties that are often lacking in harmless materials. For example, in the field of wax additives, traditional PTFE-based products demonstrate excellent wear resistance and scratch resistance. For these reasons, BYK has developed a sustainable alternative that can be safely used while ensuring excellent application results, as a substitute for PE/PTFE wax additives.
