【Pixel Shifting Technology...】 This technology involves moving the X/Y axis between the pixel pitches of a camera's image sensor in sub-micron units using piezo actuators. By capturing images each time the sensor is moved and then synthesizing them, the resolution is improved. With a 25M (25 million pixel) camera, it is possible to achieve a resolution equivalent to 100 million pixels with 4 shifts (2 vertical and 2 horizontal) and a resolution equivalent to 400 million pixels with 16 shifts (4 vertical and 4 horizontal).
