Evaluation method for sterilization and growth inhibition of bacteria in biofilms.

Research is underway to develop agents that effectively kill bacteria in biofilms and suppress their production!

We would like to introduce our analysis related to biofilms, specifically the "Evaluation Method for Bacterial Sterilization and Growth Inhibition in Biofilms." The sterilization effect is evaluated by measuring the metabolic activity of the bacteria. WST (water-soluble tetrazolium salt) is one of the reagents used to determine bacterial metabolic activity, producing WST formazan in accordance with the metabolic activity of the bacteria. By measuring the absorbance, we can determine the amount of surviving bacteria. 【Analysis Method】 1. Immerse the substrate or pin in the bacterial culture solution and incubate at a constant temperature for 24 to 48 hours to allow biofilm formation on the substrate or pin. 2. After immersing the substrate or pin in the sterilizing agent solution for a specified time, wash it with water. 3. Immerse the substrate or pin in the WST reagent for 10 to 60 minutes. 4. Measure the absorbance at 460 nm. 5. Compare the standard solution with the amount of biofilm. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

In addition to our environmental analysis business, we conduct a wide range of contract analysis as a partner for researchers and engineers who "support science." We have started to offer services for measuring antioxidant capacity in functional foods (using SOD-like activity measurement kits and the DPPH method), analyzing enzyme activity and enzyme inhibition activity, and various fatty acid analyses. Recently, we have begun contract analysis for measuring biofilm formation and inhibition, as well as assessing the effects of biofilm agents, continuously challenging ourselves in new areas.
