basic information
The lenticular lens, which is densely arranged in an array with plano-convex cylindrical lenses, is the ideal lens for high-efficiency light diffusion applications in a uniaxial direction. It diffuses only the light components in the same direction as the arrangement of the lenses, while components in the direction perpendicular to the arrangement do not diffuse. The lenticular lenses from Edmund Optics have a focal length that is approximately 3 to 5 times the width of each lens. Generally, the smaller the F-number of the lens, the larger the resulting diffusion angle. It is also ideal for stereoscopic and animation effect applications.
