Wollaston prism
All products are sold individually as standard specification items. We provide short delivery times due to complete stock sales.
basic information
The Wollaston prism is made by bonding two right-angle prisms that have birefringence. The optical axes of the two prisms are bonded in a state that is orthogonal to each other. When light enters the prism, symmetrical deflection occurs between the ordinary and extraordinary rays. As a result, the two outgoing beams are both significantly deviated and become light of the same intensity with their polarization planes differing by 90°. Since both the ordinary and extraordinary rays can be utilized, it is ideal for laboratory experiments.
