■ 45° angle prism ■ Forms an inverted and reversed image using the Daha surface. Ideal for use with microscope optical systems ■ The Daha surface is manufactured with an angular tolerance of 5 seconds ■ Can be converted to a Pekan prism when combined with a half-penta prism * You can download the catalog from Edmund Optics Japan that features this product below.
basic information
The Schmidt prism has the function of deflecting incident light by 45° due to four reflections when light is incident perpendicularly on the entrance face. The image at this time is inverted, with left and right reversed. It has the same image state as the Amici prism, which has a 90° deflection function, but the Schmidt prism, which deflects at 45°, is particularly used in the optical system of microscope eyepieces. The roof surface (dah surface; without beveling) manufactured with an angular tolerance of 5” is coated with aluminum to maintain total reflection. TECHSPEC Schmidt prisms can also be combined with TECHSPEC half-penta prisms to create a Pekan prism.
