basic information

The half-pentaprism has the function of deflecting the light path by 45°, and the image at this time is upright and not laterally inverted. The reflective surface is coated with aluminum for enhanced reflection, and is protected with Inconel and a black coating. By combining half-pentaprisms of the same size from the TECHSPEC Schmidt prism series, a Pechan prism can be created. The Pechan prism inverts the image either vertically or horizontally without deflecting the light path. It can be used with converging or diverging light and contributes to the reduction of the overall size of the optical system.
