■180° deviation angle (parallel displacement) prism ■Parallel displacement of the optical axis without changing the state of the image ■The parallelism (deviation accuracy) between the incident beam and the outgoing beam is only ±30 seconds ■A displacement reflection prism that returns to the incident side by parallel displacement of the optical axis is also available *You can download the catalog from Edmund Optics Japan that features this product from the link below.
basic information
The rhomboid prism (diamond-shaped prism) is used to parallelly shift the optical axis by a specific distance (displacement amount) without changing the state of the image. The displacement amount at this time is the same as the dimension D in the specifications below. The rhomboid prisms from Edmund Optics achieve an angular deviation accuracy of less than 30 seconds (the deviation in angle of the outgoing light relative to the incoming light) by strictly controlling each manufacturing tolerance. They are widely used in applications where it is necessary to parallelly shift the optical axis, such as in adjusting the interpupillary distance of binoculars. Note that the reflective surfaces (two faces) do not have a coating for increased reflectivity, making them unsuitable for use with oblique rays or optical systems with a small F-number (light may not be totally reflected on the same surface).
