basic information
The light pipe homogenizer rod utilizes total internal reflection to homogenize uneven illumination areas without depending on their spectral characteristics. Its hexagonal cross-section shape reduces light loss by 35% compared to light pipes with comparable square cross-section shapes. While low numerical aperture (NA) light sources require longer pipes to homogenize light, shorter pipes sufficiently homogenize output from high NA light sources. The TECHSPEC synthetic quartz light pipe homogenizer rod is made from UV-grade synthetic quartz substrate, which is excellent for use with UV LED lighting sources.
