basic information

The equilateral triangle prism functions as a dispersive prism that separates white light (parallel light) into the spectrum of a rainbow. It forms a brighter spectrum with less stray light compared to diffraction gratings, and there is no generation of secondary spectra. The equilateral triangle prism from Edmund Optics uses N-SF11 flint glass as the substrate. It has a lower Abbe number compared to crown glass represented by N-BK7, resulting in higher chromatic dispersion. For applications that require multiple prisms to enhance resolution during light dispersion, using prisms with anti-reflective coatings on the entrance and exit surfaces is effective. All products are sold individually as standard items. We offer short delivery times due to complete stock availability.
