basic information

The Mitutoyo ML series objective lenses, designed for measuring microscopes with bright field observation, employ a telecentric optical system. This allows for accurate measurements of three-dimensional subjects with depth, without magnification errors. There is also minimal distortion, which is a major enemy of measurement accuracy. Unlike objective lenses designed for biological microscopes, the optical aberration correction is optimized for reflected light from the object (not considering cover glass). Because it uses a finite correction optical system, there is no need to provide an additional imaging lens like with infinity-corrected objective lenses, making it possible to build an optical system on a low budget. For connection to the microscope body, it uses an M26 x 0.706 (36TPI) screw thread. If you wish to capture the real image obtained with this objective lens using a C-mount standard CCD/CMOS camera, please use the objective lens mount tube (#56992).
