Hypercentric lens
A single lens can simultaneously capture the top and side of an object! Ideal for inspection and machine vision applications. It can also be used as a borescope.
The TECHSPEC hypercentric lens creates a converged image of an object by simultaneously focusing on the upper surface and the surrounding side surfaces. This eliminates the need to set up multiple cameras or imaging lenses in machine vision inspection and identification applications. The hypercentric lens is ideal for inspecting parts such as medicine bottles, batteries, and automotive components. The work area is conical and optimized for use with monochromatic light illumination. By placing a spacer with a thickness of 0.5 to 1.5 mm between the lens and the camera, the TECHSPEC hypercentric lens can also be used as a long-working-distance borescope, allowing simultaneous viewing of the inner walls and bottom surfaces of the object. The operating distance of the borescope is from a point beyond the convergence point (CP) of the standard work area. Using a thicker spacer will increase the focus distance of the borescope.
