List of Long Pass Filters
Short delivery time with stock sales! All items available for purchase from one piece.
Edmund Optics offers a wide range of long pass edge filters that function in ultraviolet, visible, or infrared wavelengths. Long pass filters are available in a series of optical densities. As the optical density increases, the performance of blocking transmission improves. The TECHSPEC high-performance OD 4 long pass filter provides excellent transmission and high blocking capability. The TECHSPEC dichroic long pass filter features a durable hard coating, achieving high performance for use in fluorescent applications and as a spectrum-specific beam splitter. We also offer a long pass edge filter kit composed of Edmund Optics' most popular long pass edge filters. ■ For more details, please visit the official Edmund Optics website via the link below.
basic information
The long pass filter, also known as a long pass edge filter, is designed to transmit wavelengths longer than the filter's cut-on wavelength. Long pass filters are used in various industries and life science applications, including microscopic inspection and fluorescence implementation, to separate specific spectra. While long pass filters are typically designed for normal incidence at 0°, dichroic long pass filters are designed for use at an incidence angle of 45°. Additionally, long pass filters are used in conjunction with short pass filters to create custom band pass filters. Some long pass edge filters are also used as cold mirrors to minimize thermal buildup often caused by infrared radiation. The term "high pass filter" is commonly used based on frequency rather than wavelength, so "high pass filter" refers to a short pass filter, not a long pass filter.
