[Notice] Near Infrared and Infrared Spectroscopy Workshop - Training Workshop for Creating Calibration Models Using Near Infrared and Infrared Spectroscopy -
We will be holding the "Near Infrared and Infrared Spectroscopy Workshop," which received great acclaim last year, again this year! The workshop will provide a practical format for systematically learning from the principles of spectroscopic analysis to the actual construction and evaluation of calibration models. It is open to a wide range of participants, from those who are just starting to use the equipment to those who aim to create more accurate calibration models. We understand you may be busy, but we kindly ask you to consider participating. ■ Dates: [Day 1] December 1, 2026 (Tuesday) [Day 2] December 2, 2026 (Wednesday) ■ Target Audience: Customers using near infrared and infrared equipment, customers developing calibration models, etc. ■ Capacity: 10 participants (reservation required) ■ Main Content (tentative): - Explanation of the principles of spectroscopy (near infrared and mid-infrared) - Preprocessing and visualization exercises of spectral data - Construction and evaluation of calibration models (such as PLS regression) - Methods for outlier detection and variable selection - Practical exercises for model creation using real data * The exercises will use the dedicated software "FossCalibrator." Customers who are not currently under contract can also use it. Please check the PDF for more details.

Foss has celebrated its 70th anniversary!
Well, it's already July! We've entered the second half of the fiscal year, and this month is actually a special one for us at Foss. Since our founder, Nils Foss, established the company in July 1956, we hold a ceremony every year to celebrate "Foss's Birthday," where Foss subsidiaries around the world celebrate with a "birthday cake." This year is particularly significant as it marks our 70th anniversary, and we plan to celebrate grandly in various countries. Foss's history began in 1956 with the launch of the "Ceratest," a portable grain moisture meter. It feels truly innovative that, 70 years ago, we introduced a measurement device specifically for grains that was quick and easy to use. Since then, we have continuously provided our customers with cutting-edge analytical instruments, such as Promilk, the prototype of our current dairy component measurement device, Milkoscan, and Bactoscan, which was already close to today's raw milk bacterial count measurement device in the 1980s. As we celebrate our 70th anniversary this year and beyond, we will continue to introduce new products that meet our customers' needs, and we look forward to your continued support.
