The KTA1550/52 is an active filter IC that significantly improves the common mode noise rejection ratio (CMRR) and insertion loss of Ethernet. By using it in conjunction with a winding-type LAN filter (pulse transformer + common mode choke coil, CMF), a substantial improvement in CMRR levels can be expected.
