[Poka-Yoke Example] Prevention of Forgetting to Tighten Screws with Electric Screwdrivers
Realizing prevention of forgetting to tighten screws with an electric driver.
A proposal for improvement has been made regarding the production of our factory's wireless Andon system, "Wireless Call Device," stating, "After tightening screws at 30 locations with an electric driver, we check the number of screws tightened in the next process to prevent any omissions in the tightening work (poka-yoke). We would like to reduce this checking process." We have developed a mechanism that attaches a newly developed poka-yoke transmitter to the Nitto Kohki electric driver "Delvo," which is currently used in our production process, allowing it to "wirelessly transmit a torque-up signal from the electric driver when screws are tightened." 【Design Requirements】 (1) It should be retrofittable without modifying the electric driver "Delvo." (2) It should not impair the operability of the electric driver. (3) Battery replacement should be possible without removing the transmitter.
