It is said that 85% of individuals aged 12 to 24 struggle with oily and acne-prone skin, and this trend is increasing in older age groups as well. The main causes of acne are (1) excessive sebum production, (2) irregular keratinization, (3) inflammation, and (4) sebaceous gland involvement. These causes lead to inflammatory responses. Furthermore, clogged pores create a low-oxygen environment that facilitates the proliferation of acne bacteria. Whether acne bacteria act symbiotically or worsen acne symptoms depends on the balance of their strain types. There are mainly six strain types of acne bacteria: IA1, IA2, IB, IC, II, and III. It has been confirmed that strain type IA1 is the dominant type in acne-prone skin. This product suppresses the IA1 strain of acne bacteria and the C. granulosum that increases within papules, maintaining and improving the balance of symbiotic bacteria.
