Cosmetic ingredient Coffee Upcycle Surfactant KLEANSTANTⓇ

Natural anionic surfactant upcycled from coffee by-products.

To produce 1 kilogram of coffee, 20 kilograms of CO2 are required. However, only 1% of the coffee beans are used in the production process, while 99% is discarded. Cafe Bueno has achieved zero waste by utilizing this residue as a cosmetic ingredient. KLEANSTANT is a natural anionic surfactant upcycled from coffee by-products, containing potassium palmitate, linoleic acid, polyphenols, tocopherols, and diterpene esters. In addition to its cleansing properties, foaming ability, and antioxidant effects, it also has moisturizing benefits. KLEANSTANT exhibits high foaming performance when the original pH is lowered through neutralization treatment. It shows the best performance at a pH of 5 to 6, and citric acid also contributes to the removal of residues and improvement of emulsification. However, at a pH of 4, foaming ability may decrease.
