Linux: Development of image compression applications
Experience using V4L2 (Video for Linux)! A case where development including modifications to V4L2 was proposed.
We would like to introduce a case study of an image compression application developed for customers related to imaging equipment. The company expressed a desire to create H.264 videos using the H.264 encoder built into the freescale (NXP) CPU, i.MX6. In response, we developed a container generation process and delivered a processing flow that utilizes V4L2 and shared memory between hardware for camera capture ⇒ H.264 encoder ⇒ container generation. [Case Overview (Partial)] <Requirements> ■ Create H.264 videos using the H.264 encoder built into the freescale (NXP) CPU, i.MX6 ■ Combine with an existing camera capture system to encode in real-time ■ The generated videos should be playable with common playback software *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
basic information
【Other Case Summary】 <Proposal> ■ It is possible to provide a function to store the output of the H.264 encoder in real-time into AVI/MP4 containers. ■ Since we have experience using V4L2 (Video for Linux), we can develop including modifications to V4L2. <Result> ■ Developed the container generation process and realized the processing flow of camera capture ⇒ H.264 encoder ⇒ container generation using V4L2 and shared memory between hardware, and delivered it. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
