Digital Metal ships the first DM247 manufactured parts in Japan!
ヘガネスジャパン
Recently, we shipped parts made of DM247 to a customer in Japan. This is the first domestic shipment of DM247, which was added to our lineup in the middle of last year. DM247 is a nickel-based superalloy and is equivalent to the difficult-to-weld MAR M247. MAR M247 is widely used as a high-temperature turbine blade material and for other applications. MAR M247 is known as a non-weldable material and has been difficult to use with conventional 3D printing due to issues with solidification rates and temperature gradients. Digital Metal's binder jet technology is suitable for the fabrication of non-weldable materials. Binder jetting forms parts without adding heat and then sinters them. The minimal temperature gradient from cooling after the sintering temperature leads to high density.
