The world's first metal powder manufacturer to receive certification from SBTi (Science Based Target initiative).
Heganesu Corporation has become the first company in the metal powder industry to be certified by the SBTi. Initially, the goal was to reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 51% from 2018 levels by 2030, and to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions, which include raw materials and transportation, by 30%. However, the company has continued to diligently pursue its efforts, accelerating its goals and achieving SBTi certification. Specifically, the goals are as follows: 2030: Achieve net-zero emissions in its own processes* (Scope 1, 2) Reduce upstream Scope 3 emissions by 30%, focusing on raw materials** 2037: Achieve net-zero across the entire value chain (Scope 1, 2, and upstream Scope 3) *Net-zero: Any GHG emissions that cannot be reduced will be removed using carbon removal technologies. **Refers to the processes from raw material sourcing to factory acceptance based on 2018 levels. What is SBTi? A joint initiative by WWF, CDP, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the United Nations Global Compact. It recommends, promotes, supports, and certifies companies to ensure that their greenhouse gas reduction targets are based on scientific evidence, aiming to limit the global average temperature rise to below 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Addition of DM 718 (equivalent to Inconel 718) to Digital Metal's material for 3D printing.
DM 718 is a nickel-based superalloy equivalent to Inconel 718, known for its excellent heat resistance. It has been developed for Digital Metal binder jet metal 3D printers. DM718 exhibits high strength and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures and is widely used in aerospace, turbines, rocket engines, turbo pumps, and similar high-temperature environments, as well as in cryogenic applications. Inconel materials are generally known as alloys that are difficult to machine, but Digital Metal's binder jet technology allows for free-form shaping with fewer design constraints. The strength of DM718 primarily derives from the γ” precipitates in its metal structure. This enhances the weldability of DM718 compared to other high γ precipitate-strengthened alloys, which are generally considered difficult to weld. DM 718 Specifications --------------------- Tensile Strength: 1 MPa Yield Strength: 700 MPa Elongation: 15% HRC: 34 Relative Density: 98%

Digital Metal ships Japan's first pure copper parts!
Recently, shipments of pure copper parts made and sintered with Digital Metal's new material "DM Cu" for domestic use have begun. "DM Cu," which was added to the lineup in March 2021, is a copper material as its name suggests. It has a purity of 99.9%. Pure copper is widely used in applications such as heat exchangers, heat sinks, and IH heaters, but it is also known as a material that is difficult to print in 3D. This is due to the fact that in the most commonly used laser PBF 3D printers, copper reflects laser light, making it challenging to print. Digital Metal, using binder jetting, employs solid-state sintering without melting the material, and after shaping with a binder, it sinters under conditions suitable for the material. We have achieved a relative density of 95% after sintering, and even higher densities can be achieved with CIP (cold isostatic pressing) or HIP (hot isostatic pressing). This news demonstrates the development capabilities unique to Digital Metal, which is part of the metal materials manufacturer Höganäs Group. Contact Information: Höganäs Japan Co., Ltd.
