As interest in binder jet metal 3D printing grows, Digital Metal has introduced D2, a tool steel alloy that offers wear resistance and toughness. D2 is suitable for a wide range of applications but is generally used for tools. D2 is suitable for metal pressing and forming. It is a versatile high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel alloy that possesses high hardness and compressive strength due to heat treatment. It is suitable for cold working that requires high wear resistance, sharp edges, and durability.
