We will introduce a case where "PH (Plasma Hard)" was applied to molds for pressing high-strength steel in the automotive sheet metal pressing industry. By applying nitriding treatment and PVD coating to general tool steel, we enhance mold life and provide resistance to corrosion, wear, and heat. The treatment is conducted in a temperature range that does not cause thermal distortion, allowing for immediate use without the need for distortion correction after delivery. By forming only a nitrogen diffusion layer, we enable a highly tough nitriding treatment. This is also effective for cutting tools.
