[Case Study] Labor productivity doubled: "Automatic Alignment Supply Line for Wieners"
Improving the labor shortage, productivity, and working conditions in the sausage manufacturing site.
This is an example of automating the packaging process using robots in a manufacturing site where four workers were previously involved in loading sausages into a deep-draw packaging machine. Until now, one worker would carry the sausages, which had their twist ends cut off, to the deep-draw packaging machine, while two workers aligned the sausages and another two workers quickly placed them into the pockets of the vacuum packaging machine. (Total number of workers: 5) Due to the repetitive nature of these tasks over long periods, there were concerns about unstable production efficiency and the risk of worker injuries. Additionally, in today's labor shortage, securing human resources for any process has become challenging, resulting in considerable heavy labor. The "Automatic Sausage Alignment Supply Line" has automated the packaging process that was previously done manually. By simply randomly loading the cut sausages, the robot aligns them to the specified number. In the next unit, another robot reliably places the sausages into the pockets of the packaging machine. After implementing this line, the packaging process can now be managed by only 1 to 2 workers feeding the machine. basic information
【Wiener Insertion】 Cut wieners are randomly arranged on the conveyor of this machine by 1 to 2 operators. 【Wiener Automatic Alignment】 A camera captures images of the wieners, and a parallel link robot aligns their orientation and arranges the specified number. Production capacity: 80 pieces/minute, Labor reduction: 2 operators → 0 operators, Labor productivity: doubled (Before implementation: 19,200 pieces/person/8h, After implementation: 38,400 pieces/person/8h) 【Wiener Packaging Machine Insertion】 A six-axis multi-joint robot uses an original hand to grasp the wieners and fills them into the pockets of the packaging machine. Production capacity: 20 shots/minute, Labor reduction: 2 operators → 0 operators, Labor productivity: doubled (Before implementation: 4,800 packs/person/8h, After implementation: 9,600 packs/person/8h) *Varies depending on the capacity of the packaging machine.

Detailed information
-
In mass production, it is generally the case that the task of placing the sausages into the deep-draw vacuum packaging machine is performed by 1 to 2 people who align the sausages in the correct direction and arrange the specified number, while another 1 to 2 people place them into the pockets in accordance with the speed of the packaging machine.
-
One to two people are needed for this line, but the robot will automatically handle the collection and alignment of the sausages and their input into the deep-draw vacuum packaging machine.
